From the time I met Tyff Short in November 2020, I already knew that we shared similarities, from our single motherhood stories to our love language which is “acts of service.”
Tyff Short started her beauty business in 2012 by selling a beauty facial set that was chemical-based. “My skin is so sensitive and I have psoriasis. Everything was aggravating for me,” Tyff recalls. “This prompted me to explore and research more on plant-based ingredients.”
A brand that’s ahead of the pack is One Earth Organics (OEO), a homegrown company of all-natural skin and personal care products made with the Filipina in mind.
Amid all these noises is a Filipino brand that quietly helps women address beauty issues that are not often brought to light, such as dark underarms and other dark areas in the female body.
Meet Tyffanie Short. Magmula sa puhunang P37,000, nakapagtayo siya ng sarili niyang organic beauty and skin care company.
It is easy to see that the beauty industry is as big as it is saturated. The Philippine market is full of foreign brands that have their own niche when it comes to the kind of beauty these promote – K-Beauty (Korean), J-Beauty (Japanese), American brands, and then the homegrown brands.
Dark underarms and discoloration are a common concern for Filipinas and there’s nothing wrong with that. One Earth Organics shows the natural solution for it without the added judgement.
A single mom and a survivor of an abusive relationship, One Earth Organics CEO and founder Tyffanie Short is a reminder to every woman that one has to to take a leap of faith in order to fly.
